Sam Sperry is currently an Associate Director in the ADME group at SGX Pharmaceuticals. He has been with SGX since 2002 where he implemented analytical and bio-analytical capabilities to support drug discovery and development. Initially he supervised many aspects of developing the sample registration, storage, tracking, distribution, and quality control procedures for SGX discovery and lead optimization compounds. Additionally he directed the SGX ADME group to develop and apply several physico-chemical and ADME profiling assays. Currently his primary focus is DMPK characterization of discovery leads and clinical candidates. Prior to joining SGX Sam worked at Structural Bioinformatics and Tularik. Sam has a B.Sc. from CSU Long Beach and a Ph.D. from UC Santa Cruz.  After receiving his Ph.D., Sam accepted a post-doc position at the University of the South Pacific, Fiji Islands conducting marine natural products research.
